❀ -- Ollie & Grey -- ❀

Does your dog do this?

If you've noticed any of these, it's the floors — not his age

  • Back legs splay out when he tries to stand
  • Scrabbles for grip on tile, laminate or polished wood
  • Takes the long way round to avoid a hard-floor room
  • Stopped using the stairs, or waits at the bottom for help
  • Hesitates before getting up, then rushes it
  • Stopped meeting you at the door

Hard floors give an older dog nothing to push against. Nails and worn paw pads slide, the legs go out sideways, and after it happens a few times most dogs simply stop trying. What looks like a dog giving up is very often a dog that can't get traction.

Sure Step pads sit on the underside of the paw and grip the floor the way a young dog's pads used to.

How it works — three steps

Ninety seconds, once every few weeks

1. Check the paw
Clean and dry. That's the whole preparation.

2. Peel and press
Hold for ten seconds. The adhesive does the rest.

3. Off he goes
Grip on every surface. Reapply every 2–4 weeks.

No socks to kick off. No boots to lose. Nothing for them to notice.

Ollie's story

Ollie was eleven when we moved into a house with wooden floors. Within a month he'd stopped coming into the kitchen. He'd stand at the doorway and wait for someone to carry him in, and we told ourselves he was just getting old.

He wasn't getting old. He couldn't get a grip.

We tried rugs, we tried socks, we tried trimming his nails shorter than we should have. What finally worked was the simplest thing we found, and it took about ninety seconds.

Ollie & Grey exists because of a dog who deserved to walk into his own kitchen.

    Fequently Asked Questions

    Will they stay on?

Yes — most owners get 2–4 weeks per set through normal indoor activity. We use a hypoallergenic medical-grade adhesive rather than the craft adhesive used on cheaper pads, which is the single biggest difference in this category.

No. They peel off cleanly and don't pull fur. Most simply wear off on their own.

Go by your dog's weight: Small under 12 kg, Medium 12–27 kg, Large over 27 kg. If you're between brackets, size up. Wrong size? Free exchange on unopened packs.

Almost none do. They're thin and sit flush against the paw. That's the main advantage over socks and boots, which most older dogs actively resist.

Tile, laminate, polished wood, vinyl and sealed concrete. They're for indoor use.

Sure Step pads are a traction aid, not a medical treatment. They help a dog get a grip on slippery floors, which is often what's actually causing the hesitation. Anything to do with pain or joint disease is a conversation for your vet.
