Your Sure Step pads, in the size and pack you chose, on peel-off sheets of 24. Each sheet is six full applications for a four-pawed dog: 1 sheet in the Starter Kit, 2 in the Comfort Pack, 3 in the Value Pack.

A quick-start card with the application steps and a QR code to the 90-second application video.

The Senior Dog Comfort Guide (36 pages) arrives by email the moment you order, with Comfort Pack and Value Pack orders.

Value Pack orders also include a full-size Steady Paw Balm, free.

Go by your dog's weight. You already know it, and there's nothing to measure.

Small — under 12 kg / 25 lb
Medium — 12–27 kg / 25–60 lb
Large — over 27 kg / 60 lb

Between two sizes, or a dog with unusually small paws for its weight? Choose the smaller pad. A pad slightly smaller than the paw pad still grips well; one that overhangs will catch and lift.

If you'd rather check properly, measure the width of the main rear paw pad and compare it to the chart in the size guide.

Got it wrong? Email us and we'll swap any unopened pack free.

Around 1-3 days on indoor floors for most dogs.

Things that shorten it: damp paws, wet walks, lots of outdoor time, and dogs who lick at their feet. Things that extend it: a clean, dry paw at application and trimming the fur around the pad first.

Replace them when you see the edges lifting rather than waiting for one to come off. Peel slowly from the edge, and never pull straight down.

Tracked delivery to the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Orders leave our warehouse within 1–2 business days and arrive in 5-8 business days, depending on where you are.

Free shipping on orders over $50. Below that, shipping is calculated at checkout.

Christmas: order by 1 December for delivery before the 25th. Australia and New Zealand have the longest transit, so don't leave it late.

Every order is covered by our 30-Day Steady Steps Promise. If the pads don't grip, or your dog won't tolerate them, email support@olliegrey.shop and we'll refund you.

Nobody tells you the floors become the problem

As dogs age, their paw pads can wear smooth and the fur between their toes grows over them. On timber, tile and laminate, that means a little less grip with every step, and they notice before you do.

  • counter_1

    The slip

Back legs splay when they push up to stand.

  • counter_2

    The hesitation

They pause at the kitchen doorway and circle before lying down.

  • counter_3

    The avoidance

The stairs go first. Then the tiled hallway. Then meeting you at the door.

  • counter_4

    The shrinking world

They stay on the one rug that feels safe, and you start to think this is just old age.

Rugs everywhere didn't fix it? Rugs slide, bunch up and stop at the doorway. Grip needs to go where your dog goes.

Put the grip where their paws meet the floor

      Common Questions

      check_box

      Will they actually stay on?

Yes — as long as the paw is clean and dry when you put them on. That's not a disclaimer, it's genuinely the whole thing. Three things stop a pad holding: a damp paw, a paw with balm or oil on it, and long fur growing between the pads. Wipe with a damp cloth, let it dry properly, trim any fur that's grown over the pad surface, and press for five seconds.

Done that way, most owners get 1-3 days from a set before the edges start lifting.

We're aware this is the complaint you'll find against cheap versions of this product, which is why we spent our whole sample budget testing adhesive rather than packaging. If a set of yours doesn't hold, email us and we'll replace it — we'd rather know.

No. The pad sits on the underside of the foot, on the smooth load-bearing pad itself, not on the furry top of the paw — so there's no hair for it to pull.

Don't peel a pad off a dry paw. Hold a warm, damp cloth over it for about thirty seconds and it releases on its own. Most of the time you won't need to: they lift at the edges when they're ready and come away during normal walking.

If your dog has fur growing between the pads, trim it before the first application. It makes removal easier and adhesion better.

Most dogs mind this less than you'd expect, because nothing is being pulled or squeezed — it's a few seconds of gentle pressure on a paw.

If yours is funny about his feet:

      • Do it when he's already lying down and settled, ideally in the evening
      • After a walk works well, when he's tired and not inclined to argue
      • Do one paw a night for four nights rather than fighting through all four in one sitting. Nothing is lost by spreading it out
      • Have something he likes in your other hand

If your dog is genuinely paw-shy and none of that lands.

Send it back unopened and we'll swap it, free. Just email us.

Our sizes go by your dog's weight, which you already know, rather than a paw measurement you'd have to take:

      • Small — under 12 kg / 25 lb
      • Medium — 12–27 kg / 25–60 lb
      • Large — over 27 kg / 60 lb

If he's within a couple of kilos of a boundary, check the paw-length cross-reference in the size guide. When you're still unsure, go up. A slightly generous pad still sits where it needs to; one that's too small doesn't cover the part of the foot he actually pushes off from.

Typically 1-3 days, though it varies more than you'd think between dogs.

What shortens it: wet grass, a lot of time outdoors, licking, and heavily textured floors. Front paws usually wear through before back ones, because that's where the braking happens when he stops — so it's normal to reapply the fronts a little more often.

Reapply when the edges start lifting. There's no harm in leaving a partly-lifted pad on for another day, it just stops doing much.

A 48-pad Comfort Kit is twelve full applications, which for most dogs is around 12-36 days of continuous use.

Yes — those three surfaces are exactly what this is for, along with vinyl, sealed concrete and bathroom tile.

Two honest limits. Nothing works properly on a wet floor, so if he's coming in soaked, dry his feet as you always would. And polished stair nosings are the hardest surface in any house; pads help a lot there, but if he's hesitant on stairs specifically, a runner on the stairs alongside the pads is still worth having.

It's very common in older dogs and it doesn't rule the pads out.

The adhesive is a hypoallergenic, skin-safe acrylic — the same class used in medical dressings, and the pad itself is non-toxic. It isn't meant to be eaten, though — if he manages to chew one off, take it off him rather than leaving him with it.

A determined licker can work an edge loose, so apply at night once he's settled. That gives the adhesive several undisturbed hours to bond, which makes a real difference.

One thing worth mentioning: persistent paw licking is sometimes worth raising with your vet, since it can point to something other than habit. That's a conversation for them, not us.

      Real dogs. Real floors.
